Montceau-les-mines is an idyllic village on the banks of the River Loire in the Loire Valley in the central part of France. It is the home of an old mining town and industrial center that have now fallen victim to modernity. The town is located at the foot of the River Loire, close to the city of Vienne. Montceau-las-Mines is actually two villages - one is the old mining town and the second is an industrial area. The new industrial area is only about twenty miles away from the old mining town. When the old mining town was built, many homes and businesses in the area were destroyed by the floods and storms. Today, there are no sign of any damage but the town is still beautiful.

There are many beautiful sights to see in Montceau-las-Mines. There is the old fashioned brick mill that was built in 1900. It was used primarily to make bricks for homes but also for other buildings in town. There is an old historic theater that opened in 1866, which was once used to show plays. There are some beautiful old brick warehouses still standing that date back to the 1800s. The old railroad depot and the old ironworks are also still standing. All of these beautiful places are great attractions to visit when in Montcea-las-Mines.
