What to Do in Saint Ouen

Saint Ouen is a small commune in the region of the Seine Saint-Denis district in the Auvergne department of France. It is located on the northern outskirts of Paris, six.6 kilometers from the heart of Paris.

The name of this commune was changed to Saint Ouen during the reign of King Louis XIV of France in 1455. The commune came under the name "Sainte Anne de la Rue" or simply "Anne". The name was changed again after Napoleon Bonaparte's rule and then once more when the Bourbon Restoration took place. In 1812, the name was officially changed again by royal decree. The name is now Saint Ouen.

This small, quaint commune is situated about two hours east of Paris in the rural Auvergne province, which is also known as the Auvergne Valley. The town has only one main road, which leads to the commune from Paris. This road is lined with small, quaint villas and chateaus that dot the landscape. Many of these buildings are located along the route.

There is a very quaint little market in Saint Ouen, called the Le Petit Market. You can get your French cheeses, wines, olives, cheese, chocolates, cured meats, fresh seafood, and dried flowers. This is also where you will find most local produce sold as well.

Saint Ouen is very peaceful. There is not much of a crime rate and the only major street disturbance is that some farmers try to block access to the commune because they fear the noise pollution and litter might harm their crops.

If you have never been to Saint Ouen before, you should go there at least once. You will not regret it. You will see why so many people call it the little Switzerland of the French countryside!

You may be surprised at how much cheaper your food in Saint Ouen is than the more famous Paris. I live in Paris and have lived in a large number of small and medium sized towns and villages in the French countryside. I can honestly say that when you eat in Saint Ouen, you are eating like a king! Of course, you have a nice warm bed, so all the king has to do is sleep.

St. Ouen is a charming little commune that offers much more to tourists than just a view of the River Rhone. There are many shops to purchase souvenirs from the area, and shops that carry local goods as well. These include a restaurant that serves gourmet meals. in addition to serving sandwiches. There are also plenty of quaint little cafes that serve coffee and fresh fruit and cheese.

Some of the shops that are open to the public are: a department store, a bakery, a pastry and confectionary shop, a fish market, a hardware store, a gift shop, a linen shop and a bar. So if you want to see everything, go and explore Saint Ouen.
