Visit Assevillers in June For a Great Holiday

Assevillers, which means 'home of Assefolk', is a little village in the Somme region in Northern France. It was occupied by the British during the First World War and during the Second World War it was occupied by the French. It is close to St Quentin. A little village in a beautiful region that offers an excellent view of the Somme.

The village itself is home to a small museum where you will find local history and culture. Some of the items on display are a number of antique photographs of the area as well as some paintings that depict life at Assevillers in earlier times. One of the main sights in Assevillers are the ruins of the old Roman roads that crossed the River Somme.

The best thing about Assevillers for visitors is that there are some historical buildings to visit. The local library is particularly interesting as it contains many old documents relating to the village as well as a section on the local history. As this is a small town with just over fifty houses, the town was not always as busy as it is today. In the days past Assevillers was only home to one doctor.
